The England women’s team last competed in the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur in 1998, winning the silver medal. TThe England women’s cricket team will compete in the Commonwealth Games for the first time in 24 years.

The top two teams from the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 will qualify directly for the semi-finals. The other six teams will play in the group stage. South Africa is one of the favorites to win the tournament. The team has been in great form in recent years. They are the current holders of the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 title. They also have a strong batting line-up. Dane van Niekerk, Lizelle Lee, Mignon du Preez, and Trisha Chetty can all score runs.

Shabnim Ismail, Marizanne Kapp, and Dane van Niekerk are all experienced bowlers. South Africa will be looking to make a strong start to the tournament. They will be looking to win their first-ever Commonwealth Games Women’s Cricket title.
